May 11th, 2011 – An exciting evening was had by all at the 5th Meet & Mingle event hosted by Herman Miller. This exclusive networking event was attended by almost 50 mentors and protégés. The focus on this particular meet and mingle was to enhance ways to network and this was facilitated by an interactive and engaging presentation by Tim Peters. Although one would have had to have been present at Mr. Peters presentation to hear all of his neat tips regarding networking – one interesting suggestion was to write down a unique detail specific to the person you’ve spoken with on the back of their business card – this can help you to remember them for the next time you meet them!
Following Mr. Peters presentation, a brief overview of our unique mentorship program was given by Anne Milochik who pointed out where to find resources regarding network and how to keep a healthy and respectful networking relationship going.
Continuing in the spirit of an interactive and charming evening, Ms. Jas Saggar and Ms. Magda Choruzy hosted a spin-off of ‘speed dating’ called ‘speed networking.’
This involved 4 partner rotations, each lasting 2 minutes in length – and allowed for each partner to introduce themselves and mention something unique about themselves all under 2 minutes! ‘Speed Networking’ was definitely a hit and had the entire room buzzing!
The evening was enhanced with great wine and appetizers coupled with great people!
