Partnership Agreement

This Mentoring Program is sponsored by Life Sciences Ontario (LSO) and it’s run by us, a committee of volunteers. You are all volunteering too, as a mentor, a protégé or both.

By agreeing to these terms, or by putting this form in your pocket, purse or fanny pack and getting a drink at a Mentorship event you’re attending (instead of walking out the door), you are telling us that you’ve read these terms and agree that they’re fair and that you’ll do what they say.

Here’s the deal:

  • Respect other people’s time — show up when you say you will, and do what you say you’ll do;
  • What happens at mentoring meetings stays at mentoring meetings. You should generally consider information shared to be confidential, but if you need specific assurances or confidentiality agreements, you should discuss your needs explicitly;
  • We will do our best to match you based on your registration information, but things may not work out between you and the person you’re matched with. If you feel your match hasn’t worked out, you agree not to discuss any difficulties that led to the decision. We’ll try another match if you want us to, but it  may take us some time;
  • If you’re a protégé, use your own judgement. Just because your mentor says something doesn’t mean it’s right for you, or right at all. Neither your mentor, nor us, are responsible for decisions you make based on advice or information you receive through the program;
  • If you’re a mentor, you agree to do your best not to give unethical or immoral advice;
  • Neither LSO nor the Mentorship program is able to reimburse you for any expenses you incur in connection with meetings;
  • Finally, you agree not to sue us, each other, or LSO in connection with the Mentoring Program, or any advice you give or receive.

This is a contract, so find your own lawyer if you have questions.
